Cambodia is one of the poorest countries in the world, torn and destroyed in the 1970s and 80s by civil war and the criminal Khmer Rouge regime. In this society, shaken to its foundation, poverty affects the children most of all. But these children are also Cambodia's hope for a better future. They will be the ones who will work to form a peaceful society, free of poverty and corruption.
Especially if they are orphans or live on the street, these children, who represent hope for the future, can often only dream of a place they can call home, of adults they can trust, of having enough to eat, of a chance to go to school. And maybe even a day when they will experience affection, warmth and friendship.
KKEV is a registered as an international NGO whose purpose is helping these children in Cambodia gain access to the opportunities that they deserve.
